Surprise! Book #4 Now Has A Name | Title Reveal

October 2, 2021

It’s always such an exciting day when I get to share some of the official details for any of my books. If you follow me on social media at all, you’re probably aware that I’m creeping ever closer to releasing my fourth novel, which I am super excited about (somehow I haven’t talked about it nearly enough here, and I definitely need to change that and keep you lovely people more updated). For the longest time, Book #4 has been known simply as ‘Nameless’, which, while I liked it, didn’t really capture the overall book. So, after much deliberation, I decided that it was time to give the book a new  title, something that matches with my other fantasy novels. Especially as we’re in the process of finalising the cover, and people tell me it’s actually important to have the official title for that.

Picking the right title is such a difficult task. It needs to be something that sticks in the mind, that fits with any other books in the same series, or the same universe, and that captures something important about the book. Next to writing synopses (the person who invented those should absolutely be fired, because writing those is literal hell), choosing the right title for each of my books has been one of the biggest struggles. So, after days of brainstorming for appropriate names, asking every member of my family for their input, I finally took the ultimate decision over to my lovely people on Instagram. You should absolutely join me there. I share regular writing updates and ask for input and opinions over there all the time. It’s a fun time. And the lovely people of Instagram delivered with their choice of what is ultimately the perfect name. So, without further ado, Book #4 is now titled:

‘The Iron Winter’ is the perfect title for this book, for so many reasons. Firstly, it really does capture some important things about the book, and it really rolls off the tongue, doesn’t it? Plus, it matches the titles of my other two fantasy books ‘The Crystal Tree’ and ‘The Shattering Song’, which was also important to me. ‘The Iron Winter is not a direct sequel to that duology. Rather, it’s a spin off novel set in the aftermath of the events in those two books, with all new characters, set high in the harsh winters of the northern mountains. It’s one of my favourite books I’ve written so far, and I know that you’re all going to love it too.

Now that the book has a title, it’s almost time to reveal the official cover. We’ve been working on that one for weeks, and let me tell you, it’s looking absolutely awesome. My cover designer is really knocking it out of the park on this one, let me tell you. I’ll be holding the official cover reveal next Friday, the 8th of October, both here and over on Instagram, so keep your eyes open for that one. I can’t wait to show you the gorgeous cover we’ve designed for this book.

Would you like to be part of the cover reveal? Signups are now open! Fill out this form to be added to the cover reveal team. I’ll send you the pictures, the blurb, and other relevant info, and all you need to do is post them on the appropriate day. I would love, love, LOVE to have your help!
