‘The Crystal Tree’ | Cover Reveal!

June 14, 2018

It’s finally time! Today I get to reveal the cover for my upcoming young adult fantasy ‘The Crystal Tree’. Eeeee! I have been dying to share this for so long. No joke, I almost posted the cover early for my friends on Facebook just so I could show someone the gloriousness that is my book. But without further ado, here is ‘The Crystal Tree’ in all it’s beauty, inside and out. (click on the photos to see larger versions)

Is that not the most beautiful cover? (Also, my dog attacked with licky kisses in order to get a sneak peek at the book, and that was the cutest thing ever, so you’re welcome for the adorableness.) But what is a cover without a synopsis? Nothing, I tell you! Nothing! So here is a synopsis for you as well.

Briar has finally managed to rebuild her life after losing her parents to the fire that destroyed her entire village. But when the magic-wielding Nameless Ones kidnap her sister, Briar is forced to leave the safety of her new home to save her.

With the help of some travellers on a mission of their own, and her own magic, Briar chases after the Nameless Ones, only to find that her sister’s capture is a small part in a dark plot that threatens the safety of the entire country.

A dark magician has risen, and the legendary Crystal Tree might be the only thing that can save them now.

I cannot tell you how much in love with this cover I am. Full credit goes to my uber talented sister, Charlotte. I am incredibly lucky to have an amazing artist as a sister who is not only super talented, but who helped me write this book, and then was so eager to make a cover for it. I would not have a cover as good as this had she not got involved. About the only part of this that I came up with was the idea for the tree. Beyond that, I was sort of ‘meh, there’ll be something in the background…I guess? Maybe?’ And then she took my one idea and ran with it and this is the result.

(Side note. This is a proof copy of the book, hence the lovely grey line running over the top of everything. The real version doesn’t have this, but I don’t have an official copy of my own book, so photos of the proof it is.)

I wanted to include some photos of the interior of the book as well, because that bit is my work, both the writing of the story, and the formatting of the book. One wears a lot of hats when one is indie publishing a book. There is nothing like seeing your words in print and holding your book in your own hands to give you a sense of accomplishment. This book has been a long time in the writing. 6 years to be correct. And now it is close to being out in the world wearing such a pretty cover, and I couldn’t be happier.

But, speaking of putting ‘The Crystal Tree’ out into the world, that brings me to the other huge announcement.

The Crystal Tree is releasing 1st August 2018!

It’s going to be available in both Kindle and print at the same time (hopefully!) through Amazon, and the Kindle version will be available for pre-order in the next few weeks, so if this has you excited for the release of ‘The Crystal Tree’ you can order it very soon!

So there you have it, my beautiful baby book! What do you think? Do you like the cover? Are you intrigued by the synopsis? I hope so! Thank you for coming and sharing my excitement today!
